This is an advertisement for using Lysol for douching. the ad basically shows that women must douche using Lysol or her marriage could be ruined by her "dirty". The image shows the beautiful "clean" white woman being intimate with her handsome white husband, while the "dirty" undouched woman watches unsure of her "daintiness". my reading of this ad is that woman must douche, especially with Lysol, or they will lose their feminine daintiness and their husband. I think it shows how back then women did everything just for men and being an object to men.
